Castles of Grass [2025]
Castles of Grass [2025]
Porcelain, Photopaper, Plaster.
In this piece I aimed to create a visual representation of emotional processing through the metaphor of physical digestion. I wanted to use the jelly as a symbol for a person with the jelly being vulnerable to its surroundings.
The series of three photographs represents the ways in which we present ourselves. Each presentation of the jelly is meant to represent us delivering ourselves to the people around us affecting how they view us. The porcelain jellies are meant to represent our own fragility by contrasting a food with traditionally naïve and youthful connotations with a more refined and adult material.
Final major project for my foundation.
